Energy Efficiency
In April, Mitsidi provided the second module of the Training in Building Energy Efficiency, a training course for SENAI instructors in the area of Energy Efficiency. The training was carried out through GIZ, a German International Cooperation that operates in various energy sectors in Brazil.
The objective of the course was to help SENAI teachers prepare and implement the “Energy Efficiency” Postgraduate course in theory and practice in their units. Around 25 SENAI professors from different states and all regions of the country participated in the two modules.
The first module was a 40-hour theoretical course on Energy Efficiency in buildings and covered topics such as: National energy efficiency policies, sustainability concepts, bioclimatic architecture, psychrometric chart, thermodynamic concepts, building and air conditioning systems, energy generation and cogeneration, photovoltaic energy, tariff system, energy management, among others.
The second 40-hour module was aimed at the practical implementation of Energy Diagnostics or Audits in buildings.
The SECOVI (São Paulo Housing Union) headquarters, the SindusCon-SP (São Paulo Civil Construction Industry Union) headquarters and the company Cushman & Wakefield Consultoria Imobiliária Ltda. participated as volunteers in this project, through the Aché Cultural Complex, a project under its management. With the support of the managers of these 3 buildings and with the guidance of Mitsidi professionals, the students were able to experience an Energy Diagnosis in practice, with the disaggregation of the buildings' loads, identification of energy efficiency measures with financial analysis and final presentation to the client.
In the three buildings, measures and savings with great potential for reducing consumption were identified. Therefore, this project showed that there are still possibilities for savings linked to both the replacement of equipment and modifications in the operating procedures of existing buildings. When we analyze the fact that 25 teachers from different states in Brazil were trained, we can expect a promising future with new students and the training and performance of well-trained professionals in these states.
