Mitsidi confirms active participation at COP30 and reinforces technical leadership role in Belém

Mitsidi announces its participation in the 30th UN Conference of the Parties (COP30), which will take place in Belém, Pará, from November 10th to 21st, 2025.

The event represents a historic milestone for the global climate agenda, and Mitsidi will be present, bringing its technical and institutional contribution to the conference's main debates.

After all, what is COP 30 and why is it so important?

The COP (UN Conference of the Parties) is the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It is the main global meeting where world leaders, scientists, companies, and civil society gather annually to negotiate and define the future of actions to combat the climate crisis.

COP 30 in Belém is considered one of the most important in history for several reasons:

  • The Venue is the Message: For the first time, the climate summit will be held in the heart of the Amazon. This brings to the forefront the importance of the bioeconomy, forest protection, biodiversity, and the vital role of indigenous peoples and traditional communities in the climate solution.
  • The Paris Agreement Deadline: 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. COP 30 is the final deadline for all countries to submit their new national emission reduction targets (NDCs) for the 2035 cycle. It will be the time to assess what has failed and accelerate global ambition to keep warming limited to 1.5°C.
  • Financing in Focus: One of the most critical themes will be the definition of a new global climate finance goal. De Financing in Focus:veloping countries need trillions of dollars to implement their energy transitions and adaptation measures, and COP 30 will be the central stage for this negotiation.

Mitsidi at COP30: participation, contribution, and leadership in the energy transition

Mitsidi's technical and institutional action in different zones of the conference reinforces its role as a reference think tank in energy transition and decarbonization.

With active participation in multiple panels, side events, and strategic initiatives discussing the future of climate action, Mitsidi will be represented by Rox Corrêa, Innovation and Climate Change Manager, and Ana Carolina Dias, Energy Efficiency Manager and specialist in Biofuels and Electrics.

Both will be in Belém not just attending the event, but in a technical and institutional capacity, contributing directly to discussions on energy transition, efficiency, and climate governance.

Mitsidi's presence extends across the three main conference spaces, reflecting the company's commitment to integrating science, public policy, and territorial impact:

🔵 Blue Zone Panel: Sustainable Fuel Production: Chemical Climate Solutions

Date and Time: 11/15 – 10:30 am to 11:30 am

Mitsidi Representative:Rox Corrêa – Innovation and Climate Change Manager

Promoted by: Instituto Bem Ambiental (IBAM) and the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CCBC)

🟢 Green Zone – Development Station (CNT)

Panel: Launch of the Roadmap for Decarbonization of Brazilian Road Transport – an initiative of the UN Global Compact – Brazil Network. Date and Time: 11/13 - morning

Mitsidi Representative: Ana Carolina Dias – Energy Efficiency Manager, specialist in Biofuels and Electrics

The study proposes technological and economic pathways to accelerate the transition of one of the sectors that emits the most greenhouse gases in the country.

Mitsidi led the technical development of the Biofuels and Electrics Hub project, which formed the basis for the roadmap, under the coordination of Ana Carolina Dias.

The document presents five promising alternatives for carbon neutrality by 2050: renewable biodiesel, green diesel (HVO), biomethane, battery electric vehicles (BEV), and green hydrogen-powered vehicles (FCEV). It also proposes a new model for financing and innovation incentives, connecting government, companies, and investors.

🟡 Yellow Zone

Panel: Collaborative Action Platform Brazil (CAP).

Date and Time: (to be confirmed)

Mitsidi Representative: Rox Corrêa – Innovation and Climate Change Manager

In the Yellow Zone, the "COP of the Peripheries", a space for climate dialogue aimed at peripheral communities, Mitsidi participates in the Collaborative Action Platform Brazil (CAP), a BMW Foundation initiative that strengthens local leadership and collaborative solutions for more resilient and inclusive cities.

Mitsidi is part of the "Local Protagonism" Working Group, contributing technically to map, guide, and support Amazonian and peripheral leaders.

In addition to technical support, it provides financial resources and strategic guidance actions, ensuring these voices have a presence and relevance in the COP spaces.

The CAP is based on an essential vision: tackling the climate crisis requires coordinated actions that originate from the territories, from the local to the global scale.

This multi-zone involvement reflects Mitsidi's role as an international think tank dedicated to energy transition, efficiency, and decarbonization, connecting research, consulting, and the implementation of climate solutions.

Throughout COP30, we will share analyses and reflections on the conference's main debates, focusing on energy efficiency, decarbonization, and climate governance.
