The Women in Energy Group, created by Mitsidi, emerged in 2019 through inspiration and learnings gained from mentoring through the Global Women's Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET), an international non-profit organization founded in 2017. It established a global network to empower women working in sustainable energy worldwide and at different career levels, both in the public and private sectors. This experience highlighted the need for women to unite and the power of networking. Throughout the process, several meetings and gatherings were held until the creation of the Women in Energy Circle in 2021. In 2022, the group continued to grow and expand, bringing together more than 100 women participants.
In May 2022, Mitsidi held the first edition of "Debate Friday: Women in Energy," an online event featuring prominent women in the energy sector, held on four consecutive Fridays. The event's success led to the 2023 and 2024 editions featuring national and international speakers.
In 2025, the event took on a new format, now in-person. The 4th edition of "Women in Energy," held at the headquarters of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CCBC) in São Paulo, was attended by dozens of people, who enjoyed listening to and interacting with the panelists. Another great success!
